The Finance team manages everything from monthly close and revenue recognition to US entity compliance and merchant billing. Across two continents, and a fast-moving SaaS business.
Recart operates as a US-incorporated SaaS company with the majority of its team and operational infrastructure in Budapest. The Finance team holds this structure together, but their remit goes well beyond keeping the books clean.
At Recart's stage, Finance is a strategic function. They set targets, build forecasts, model scenarios, and run the financial ratio analysis that tells leadership whether the business is moving in the right direction — and how fast. When a carrier increases prices, Finance models the margin impact before anyone picks up the phone. When a new pricing tier is being considered, they build the scenarios. When headcount planning starts, they own the budget. They're the team that turns operational data into forward-looking decisions, and holds the company accountable to the numbers it sets for itself.
The core of the Finance team's work is analytical: they dig into historical data, identify patterns, normalize for noise, and layer in qualitative input from customer-facing teams and R&D to produce a forecast that actually reflects what's happening in the business, not just what the spreadsheet says. That forecast becomes the foundation for target setting and operational planning for a given period. Everything else (the monthly close, the billing ops, the compliance filings) builds around that core. Recurring tasks keep the engine running; the analytical work is what steers it.They track their work in a shared Ops Board on Notion, publish a Monthly Update at the start of each month, and sync weekly with the broader Ops team.
You'll do well here if you're comfortable with both the routine (month-end close, compliance filings) and the unpredictable (a carrier announces a fee increase mid-quarter). Recart moves fast, and the Finance team needs to keep pace without sacrificing accuracy.
